Ten years ago.
Ben and I said, "I Do."
I look back with such happy memories. We had been together for five years on that day in 2002. I thought that I could never love someone more than I did that afternoon. The day was a gorgeous sunshiny day with wonderful friends, family, food, and the largest bar bill the country club had ever seen.
More than a wedding, it was a kick off to the rest of our lives...to our marriage.
I was 22. I think it is somewhat comical when I think back to the vows we proclaimed that day. Of course, I meant every word of them, but how different has life been over the last ten years. We have grown up together. Things have happened that I would have never imagined. Never in our vows did we talk about supporting each other through death or other trying times. Never did we promise to make the most of every card that life deals to us. Or - maybe we did promise that - but maybe I didn't fully understand what that actually meant until now. Never did I think about the joy and happiness that would be given to us on December 11, 2006 and April 24, 2009. I would have never guessed that tonight, instead of the rehearsal dinner night that occurred ten years earlier, we were outside in the rain with the kids...jumping in puddles.
Life is a beautiful mystery and I could have never predicted what a journey we were about to embark on, but I wouldn't choose another person to share it all with. There is no one else in the world that has seen me and supported me at my extremes... happiness or sadness...he gets it all. We are not perfect by any means, but we are who we because of the support and love we provide for each other.

Here's to the next fifty years.
