So, I was home for the day. No errands, no school run, no lunch dates, just home taking care of tiny tots. So, what did I do? I think I am crazy. I painted the trim in my living room. I figured the kids were in the room chilling, I might as well be productive. So in between loads of laundry, I painted. In addition, I created a new dilemma for myself. What's new, right? I need to get this room DONE this weekend. Should be interesting. I have no idea what colors I want in here. Awesome. At least the trim is white now, right? Nothing like creating a mess to force things to get done!
Since I missed my Love List yesterday... here are some thing I've been loving lately....
- Ben's happy and surprised face when he walks in the door and can smell a dinner he knows he is going to love. I don't even think he knows that I notice it.
- My heart leaps with pride and joy each time I listen to Myles reading this week. It is amazing and simply so cool to see your child learning and growing.
- I was perusing Craig's List this past weekend and found some really interesting things for sale. For instance... a $70,000 antique tennis racket. It was not a typo - because they listed it again at the same price the next day. If they can sell that in Kalamazoo, Michigan...good for them. I also saw listings for "colectables" and "clectables". Awesome. Lastly, I thought about the antique unicycle, but opted to pass. If you want it, you can have it.
- Jillian can officially be named a bed pack rat. That girl currently has in her bed...six blankets, eight books tucked into a little nook, eleven dolls, and six stuffed animals. I counted. She sleeps in a toddler bed!! I've been contemplating a twin bed for her - imagine what she could fit into there!! What is even more amazing, she has no trouble falling asleep. I don't have to remind her to stop playing with those toys. She just wants them with her. Adorable.
So sorry Myles ended up being sick today! We must have been TOTALLY wrong last night!! I am glad you were able to make it a productive day though! I bet you love that the window trim now matches the rest of the room :)
ReplyDeleteHope you don't get it honey!!
DeleteI am mother of the year and sent jake sick to school today thinking he just has a cold but he came home not wanting to eat because his throat hurts so bad. I don't think he even knows it's an option to tell the teacher he feels crappy so he can go home. I hope Myles is feeling better! Also, I need to borrow some of your energy. I can't even keep up with laundry and cleaning let alone paint! I think my house is forever stuck in 1980's due to my lack of motivation!
DeleteLol, Nicole. I sure hope Jake feels better soon. Our poor Kindergarteners don't know the drill. He knows now. I bet he didn't want to leave anyway. Myles wasn't thrilled about missing today. We'll see about tomorrow. Hope you guys can all stay healthy!!! Take care!!
DeleteAwww... I'm so sorry your little guy was sick. Those days can be hard, especially if they go on for too long. (P.S. I would so start a project at the least opportune time-- it's sort of my forte) =)
